A hundred horses running
Yesterday, I did my show with my mini and I did all right considering that this is the first time he's done anything like this before. He was too busy looking around when his pasture mates weren't around to call for him. Plus, it would have been nice if the cloud cover had kept around because by 10am, it was humid and running around in black pants is never fun. I felt like I was swimming with them.
The first event I did was basically showing him in his halter and then how he stands, how he is put together. I'm not sure of the exact details on what they look for. The second one was jumping and I have to say that the course they had on the board was confusing. I don't think everything got it exactly right. It would have been nice if they had someone go to each jump so we knew the order. Apparently they did it last year. Ah well.
The last one was basically a 'do whenever you feel like' until 3pm. Needless to say, after the jumping event, I needed to sit down before I collapsed. I need to get myself in shape more as well to do this stuff.
I know there are some things that I need to work on and maybe next time, I'll do the pleasure driving as well.
Pay no attention to the woman in the pic that needs exercise and look at the cute mini!
Here is a video of the obstacle course. A friend had come to help another friend with her horse but had time before she had to jam to do mine and the roomie's course.
