Writing and Other Things
Aug. 23rd, 2012 07:32 amI don't know what it is this year but I'm not sure I'll be able to finish over 50k with the August Camp Nano either. With June, I got to 44k. That was because of when I got home, being hot, even with the AC on and just trying to find a comfortable place to work and the muse going "Eh, I don't wanna today."
I might finish at the same spot with August, or maybe around 30k. I've been managing at least 750 words or there about. Bah. I need to find someone who is doing it as well and have sprints. I found last year that sprints helped me out a lot because then I could focus. I'm trying to keep writing, no matter what.
I've joined a com called <a href="http://writerverse.livejournal.com/>Writerverse</a> that has challenges that you can earn points for your team. I'm on Team Prose. The end of Phase 3 is coming up and Phase 4 starts on September 1st. It has gotten big enough that now there is a third team set up. It's fun and the prompts are interesting. I'm also working on getting back into flash fiction again through the week. I have to work on re-reading my one story as well as finish my Cthulhu Steampunk and get it to the writing group I'm in. I had gotten wind of another one and have been mulling it over. It meets once a month and there is a ten dollar fee to help with the meeting spot, which isn't bad. And it is only fifteen minutes away.. This Saturday is another CATRA show, so this should be interesting on how I do. ON top of that, I need to leave there a little after three and go to the one bookstore because the book group I'm in is having five people come in who do Steampunk. If you've ever seen the episode of Castle that focused on Steampunk and had seen the arm that he wore, that was made by a guy local to my area. He's going to be there. He said he has been offered so much money at cons for that piece but he doesn't want to sell it.
