There's no place like home
May. 27th, 2011 11:46 amHell of a night last night. There was a nasty storm coming up from the south and we thought it was going to miss us but around 6:30pm, the electric went out and it was storming pretty fierce. At one point I looked outside and the sky had a distinct green tinge to it. Not good. Went inside (stupid chickens were sitting on the outside roost instead of going to the interior one) and made sure I had the flashlight while listening to the weather scanner.
At one point there was hail but that didn't last long but we were under tornado warning until 8 and severe thunderstorm warning until 10. We're under another thunderstorm warning until midnight tonight.
It was cool this morning but didn't take long to get muggy. Much suckage. We got power back around 12:30. I had the fan turned on so that when it did come on, it would come on. I was getting up about every hour anyway because I was so hot. It sucked. And the cats wanted to lay with me and cuddle.
I need to put the AC in the window. So far, I had been enjoying the cooler weather but it's supposed to get to 92 on Monday and I'm not going to put up with that when trying to get to sleep. The AC unit I have is old so when I have money, I'll have to get a new one. This one just takes a little longer to cool things off than a new one. Right now, I have other bills that have a priority so a simple $100 unit is still too much for me to get right now.
