They're predicting a temp of 102 with a heat index of 112 today. >< I couldn't even walk out of the house without breaking into a sweat.

Can only imagine what it would be like with 80 pounds of gear on your back and wearing camo. This is why I couldn't handle the military. Too much of a wuss to deal with the heat like this.

and tomorrow is going to suck since I said I would help down at the auction (because I need to money after sinking most of my free cash into the car). And let's not talk about the new error that decided to pop up on it. *sigh* It's either the O2 sensor or a catalytic converter, according to what I've read online. Who knows. It's probably going to be expensive because that's how my luck is rolling.

It's in the high 80's here, which after living through many summers in SC makes me grateful on one hand. On the other, I don't have central a/c and so it can still get hot in my house, but overall I'll take living here over 100+ degree temps like my poor mother is experiencing (albeit from the comfy confines of a well air-conditioned place for the moment).

It's been above 100 just about every day here since mid-June. I'm having to get in the habit of waking up very early to do any outside chores before the heat hits. All my animals have ice in their water, or a wading pool to cool off in.

I can't wait until late August when the temps don't usually creep much past 90.
